Ingredients
  

  • 32 oz tator tots
  • 1 /2 cups cheese shredded
  • 24 oz beef smoked sausage
  • 3/4 cup BBQ sauce
  • 3 tbsp green onion

Instructions
 

  • Preheat Oven 425
  • On a large sheet pan arrange tater tots to bake - you can line with parchment paper if you choose
  • Bake 425 for 25 mins: You will want to bake tator tots until cripsy
  • on a cutting board, dice up smoked sausage
  • place diced up smoked sausage in a skillet and brown for 10 mins
  • use paper towel to soak up grease in pan
  • once you have removed unwanted grease, add BBQ sauce to the smoked sausage and let it come to a simmer
  • shred cheese and chop up green onions and set aside
  • Once tater tots are crispy take them out of the oven
  • add shredded cheese right away to the tots (reserve about 1/2 cup)
  • take the cooked smoked BBQ sausage and pour right on top of the crispy tots
  • then add remaining and cheese and garnish with green onions
  • I serve these right off the sheet pan with a spatula for serving

Notes

You can substitute the beef smoked sausage with turkey and you can also use pre shredded cheese, I just prefer to shred my own cheese. 
Feel free to add diced jalapeño for a kick!
