I have heard so many people say they don't eat fish or seafood at home because they aren't quite sure how to cook it. But I am here to tell you, there are so many simple ways to cook up some delicious seafood right at home! No need to go out to get that taste you are craving! And there are so many health benefits to eating fish!

Do you take fish oil? Well it's the same idea, except you get to have a yummy meal instead of fish oil burps all day! Pro-tip, if you take fish oil, take it at night. No one wants to have fish oil breath all day 😂

Salmon in particular is packed with Omega-3 fatty acids which is thought to be great for heart health — it may help lower blood pressure, reduce inflammation, and decrease the risk of heart disease and stroke.

Omega-3s is also been said to support brain function and may help reduce the risk of cognitive decline, depression, and anxiety. Which is something we as mamas really need to be aware of! I do feel it is important to mention, if you are struggling, don't rely on eating fish alone to help with depression or anxiety. Make an appointment and get the help you need to be the best version of yourself! And remember BUT GOD!! Ultimate healing comes from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I cannot stress this enough!

A strong relationship with our Heavenly Father has been the most significant thing that has helped our family while walking this journey of grief since Quintin passed away unexpectedly in April of last year. But, another thing that has been important for me in this journey of grief is counseling. So just let me encourage you, always lean on the Lord, but don't be afraid to make a counseling appointment! You can even do online counseling, but make the appointment. Your health as a mama is so important! Not just for yourself, but for your kids too! How can we successfully take care of little ones if we aren't taking care of ourselves? We can't! So take care of yourself, be the best version of yourself by leaning on the Lord & getting the help you need! There is nothing wrong with counseling, let's normalize it! Because honestly, if you find the right therapist and accurate counseling, it is a beautiful thing in just about any stage of life you are in!

While counseling can be very beneficial, it must be used in conjunction with truly and undeniably walking with the Lord. The ultimate healing comes from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I cannot stress this enough!

Stressed? Turn to HIM. Lost? Turn to HIM. Lonely? Turn to HIM. Scared? Turn to HIM. Happy? STILL TURN TO HIM!!

Whatever the question, HE IS THE ANSWER!!!

Air Fryer Salmon: SIDE IDEA

This Salmon would be delish with some rice and smashed Brussel Sprouts! I have the best recipe for smashed Brussels. I haven't written a blog on it yet (so much to do, so little time: a Crazy Busy Mama theme 🤪) but here is the video with directions until I get one written up for y'all!

Crazy Busy Mama Tip

When buying salmon from the store, there are a few things you want to look for in order to get the best filets!

👃 1. Smell Test (if possible): Fresh salmon shouldn't smell fishy — it should have a mild, almost ocean-like scent. A strong “fishy” smell = skip it.

🎨 2. Check the Color: Avoid anything that looks grayish or discolored. Wild salmon: usually a deep reddish-orange. Farmed salmon: lighter pink, often with more visible fat lines (aka striations).

🏷️ 3. Read the Label: Look for terms like: “Farm-raised” (often fattier and milder tasting, but choose responsibly farmed if possible — e.g., ASC or BAP certified). “Wild-caught “(from the ocean or rivers — typically leaner and considered more sustainable).
