As many of you know, my husband and best friend Quintin passed away unexpectedly on April 9th of last year. Easter was our last time all together as a family. Because of that Easter will always be bittersweet. There is one thing that I keep coming back to as we just hit the one year mark since Q passed. One year. I struggle to even type that as it still doesn’t feel real. But over this last year I have experienced so many emotions. I have quite honestly been flooded with every emotion at one point or another. But I cannot help but feel so grateful for the father that Quintin was to our children.

He showed up. Fully and completely. He showed up, always. Whether it be a game or recital, or just time together at home. He was there, and not just there.. he was present and engaged. Those are memories I know our children and I will cherish forever.

I tell you this to say, don’t take those moments for granted. And BE PRESENT! You will never regret being an engaged parent. Don’t just do it for yourself, even though having those memories of your children is so sweet, but do it for them! Do it so that they may have memories of you being fully present! So put down your phone, turn off the tv and just be together!

One of my favorite ways to spend time together is baking yummy treats. In our house it is usually me and the girls baking with the guys being our taste testers. I love this time together so much. It is just so good for my mama heart.

Now I know my kids are teens now, but your kids don’t need to be teens to get to bake together! Have you ever tried to bake anything with toddlers around? I dare you to try and crack the eggs without them. They will not allow it, they love to “help.” And I know that means a bigger mess and likely a few egg shells you will be scooping out. But this Easter, rather than worrying about everything being perfect, focus on the memories you are making! I promise you will be glad you did!

After all, that is the whole back story to Easter, isn’t it? The reason Jesus was here in the first place is because we aren’t perfect. He came here to pay for our sins. God doesn’t expect you to be perfect! He just wants you to BE HIS!!

So just let go of the idea of perfection in every area of your life, you will always fall short if that is your goal! Embrace being flawsome! Just love Jesus, live for Jesus and the rest will fall into place. And let’s take a deep breath and make a mess in the kitchen making yummy Easter treats as a family!!

I put together this round up to help you with exactly that! These recipes are all delicious and so fun to make together as a family! Some of them will even help you tell the story of the Resurrection in ways that are easier for children to understand!

As you are preparing for Easter weekend, the most important thing to remember is that a lot can happen in 3 days! After all, HE IS RISEN!

This round up includes recipes that are some of my favorites! And they are perfect for your Easter treats table! These are sure to be a huge hit for everyone at your Easter gathering, from grandparents to toddlers!
