Overwhelmed with emotion…
In the middle of church service today, I got the text I was awarded not only Blog of the Year for Missouri but Person of the Year Award 🥹
My sweet friend Zoe had sent this very text to me!
What!?! 🤯🤯🤯 I was mind blown!
A little back story…
Unbeknownst to me, I was voted in for Missouri’s Best Blog of the Year at the end of the year and invited to their Red Carpet ceremony that was originally in February. Well due to a scheduling conflict they had to push the date to April 25th, and I was so sad I wouldn’t be able to attend their newly scheduled date since I had already committed to chaperone Ella’s senior National Journalism and Media Conference in Seattle. Talk about a big bummer on a lot of different levels, but I knew where I needed to be told them I appreciated the invite but would have to politely decline the invitation for the new arranged date.
So needless to say, I was flooded with all sorts of emotions this morning as I received a text from a dear friend of mine sharing I had won the ultimate award given “PERSON of the Year” 🥹🤯
Have You Ever Gotten the Best of News to Share?
Have you ever gotten the best of news to share and couldn't share it with your best of friends? That was this very moment to me!
Gosh in this bittersweet moment, I wanted to share this amazing news with Quintin! After all, it isn’t much fun to celebrate without “your person” and he was no longer there to share and celebrate with. I wanted to pick up the phone call, text to share the news with him then tears streamed down realizing yet again he is gone.
He is the only one who has seen the true grit, the behind the scenes daily grind, obstacles and knows the hardships that we had to overcome to get where we are today. Let me say loud and clear, Quintin was the one who made it possible that the Crazy Busy Mama got started and the entire reason the blog even exists!! There is no doubt he would be so excited for me, but the reality is I wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for my amazing late husband.
This title should read “Person of the Year Award- Quintin Conway” today soaked in my bittersweet tears is all about you Q! You selflessly pursued my dream and sacrificially did all the behind the scenes to make this dream come to fruition. I owe it all to you babe!! 😘
This picture brings back all the memories of one of our Tuesday date days, in which I know call QueDay. That particular morning we were dreaming of all the blog things and dreaming what it could potentially do for other families. We happened to be at Cracker Barrel a place where we would frequent often and as we were walking out Q noticed the fireplace was lit so he encouraged me to sit and take a pic an older gentleman offered to take our picture in front of the fire place and we allowed him to do to capture the moment. We couldn't stop laughing about how cringy we were having a mini photo shoot at Cracker Barrel on some random Tuesday but now looking back this picture and this memory is such a treasure to me. So many incredibly good times with you Q!
I mean look how cheesy…but oh so priceless!

Life isn’t the same without you babe, miss you more and more with each passing day BUT God is giving me the strength to continue to carry on our legacy of His greatest purpose of our love each and every day!
