We love having simple bowls for dinner time and Philly Cheese Steak Bowls never disappoint! This simple Philly Cheese Steak Bowl dinner takes less than 20 mins to put together and is easy to turn into a low car, high protein meal or customize for just about any diet!  And it’s a  one dish dinner!! A Crazy Busy Mama win for all!

This is a dinner where there is never left overs. The kids especially love it because they can put whatever they love on them and leave whatever they don’t off the bowl.

We start with protein as a base and love to use sirloin steak. Or make it even quicker by using presliced and seasoned meat like Quick Ease that I get from Sam’s Club. Then add jasmine rice if not keeping low carb and and a variety of toppings like cilantro, color peppers, avocado, jalapeño, black beans, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream and can't forget those mushrooms.

This is a dinner that is not only simple to put together it is delicious!

So next time you are thinking of a Philly Cheese Steak, ditch the bun and try these Philly Cheese Steak bowls instead.

Speaking of bowls, if you enjoy this one you have to try this easy TACO RICE bowl. Its a 15-20 minute quick dinner that will also be a quick easy favorite for those crazy busy nights.

Ok mama, here is how I put together

Ingredients: Philly Cheese Steak Bowls

  • 1-2 lbs sirloin: we love to use Quick Steak:pre-seasoned
  • 1 1/2 tsp olive oil
  • 2 cups rice we love jasmine rice
  • 1 tbsp butter

If not using pre-seasoned meat:

  • 1 tbsp garlic salt
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tbsp paprika
  • 1 1/2 tbsp granulated onion
  • 1 tsp ground celery seed
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne

Instructions: Philly Cheese Steak Bowls

Boil water in a pot (2 parts water for 1 part rice), while the water is coming to a boil rinse your rice then and add rice reduce temperature to a simmer closing the lid do not lift for approximately 18 minutes. Let rice rest covered for 10 mins. Then fluff rice with fork. You can also use a quick rice to speed up the process.

While the rice is cooking add olive oil to a skillet over medium heat

Then add sirloin to skillet once olive oil is ready If you are not using quick steak make sure to season your meat as cooking with all seasonings cooking until steak is completely done, then once steak is fully cooked set aside

We love to add black beans to ours so if you are using them you will want to make sure to get them heated up in a sauce pan.I don't season mine, but you could add onion powder or garlic to them to taste.

Gather toppings and prepare any that need to be chopped and sliced.

We love to shred our own cheese and love this Cheese Shredder, make shredding cheese super easy!

Once rice and meat are ready, serve in a bowl garnished with your favorites.

Crazy Busy Mama Tip: Philly Cheese Steak Bowls

If you don’t have sirloin, you could easily swap this with ground beef.

Meal prep idea: These would also be super simple to put together ahead and store in glass containers in fridge for up to 5-7 days. Great for a grab and go lunch!

Variation – trying to keep it low carb you can also add cauliflower rice or omit rice altogether. Or want it higher protein double meat portion.
