Photo Instructions: Philly Cheese Steak Pasta

Love how simple this dish really is.

In slow cooker add meat, peppers, mushrooms, seasonings, water. Everything but the pasta

2 lbs sirloin should be thinly sliced like this. You can ask the butcher to slice it this way or slice it yourself. I find it easier to have them slice it thin for me.

3 bell peppers sliced – I used Orange, Red, and Yellow, but you can use green too.

2 oz Lipton Onion Dry Soup Mix

    3/4 cup water

Then put peppers in the slow cooker

4 oz mushrooms canned or fresh and pepper to taste

put lid on slow cooker on low for 6-8 hours- do not lift lid

once meat is cooked, lift lid on slow cooker an shred meat

This is my absolute favorite kitchen tool HERE. I use it for grinding beef, shredding chicken, scrambling eggs, and so much more!

Once meat is shredded turn slow cooker temp to warm and place lid back on slow cooker.

Bring water to a boil on stove top and add desired pasta ( we love the spiral Cavatappi noodles for this dish)

16 oz pasta any will work- we love Cavatappi

Once pasta is cooked, strain and add cooked pasta to the meat in slow cooker

Once pasta is add you will want to grab and unwrap Boursin cheese.

Place Boursin Cheese on top of pasta.

Stir in Boursin cheese (can also use cream cheese) and combine well

Once combined really well add 4-5 slices of provolone cheese to the top of the mixture, just enough to cover dish.

Place lid on slow cooker until cheese is melted – usually about 7 minutes.

Once cheese is melted this dish is ready to serve.

I mean look at this amazingness!

Philly Cheese Steak Pasta Side Options:

This dish pairs well with a side salad and crusty French bread.

    Crazy Busy Mama Tip:

I have a few for you!

Using slow cooker liners helps so much with clean up! Every time I don't use one, I end up regretting it during clean up time. Liners work good for this to just throw a way at the end of the meal, however this Silicone- Reusable one is so nice and you can reuse it over and over!

Secondly, want to enhance the flavors of your pasta dishes?

Reserve 1/4 cup pasta water and add to slow cooker on the last step when you add pasta to the meat. This will help to bring out the flavors of the dish. This not only works on this Philly Cheese Steak Pasta but all pasta dishes.

    Notes

I love this recipe most in the slow cooker because it gives your meat best flavor and so tender when you cook it all day, however you can skillet cook your meat with spices, peppers and mushrooms if you need to. I would allow at least 30 minutes for this process.

Just tried this today and my hardworking boys came home and devoured it! I did omit the mushrooms as my son’s don’t really care for them but they probably would have made this recipe even better! Delicious!

This recipe is so yummy. I watched you make it during the snow/ice storm when you didn’t have peppers and was running late making dinner and didn’t have it in the crockpot. It is so delicious. I did put some peppers in it which was yummy. I love every recipe you make.
