As a busy mom, finding time to put a delicious and nutritious meal on the table can often feel like an uphill battle. Between juggling work, kids, and countless other responsibilities, the last thing we need is a complicated recipe that requires hours of prep and cleanup. That's where sheet pan dinners come in to save the day! These one-pan wonders are a game-changer for busy families, offering a hassle-free solution to dinner time woes. Here are three reasons why every crazy busy mama should incorporate sheet pan dinners into their mealtime rotation
1- Effortless Preparation: One of the biggest advantages of sheet pan dinners is their simplicity. With just a few basic ingredients and minimal prep work, you can have a complete meal ready to go in no time. Simply toss your protein, vegetables, and seasonings onto a sheet pan, pop it in the oven, and let it do all the work for you. Whether you're roasting chicken thighs with root vegetables, baking salmon with asparagus, or making a hearty vegetarian hash, sheet pan dinners require little more than chopping and seasoning, leaving you with more time to focus on other things.
2- Easy Cleanup: Say goodbye to a sink full of dirty dishes! One of the greatest joys of sheet pan dinners is their easy cleanup. Since everything cooks together on a single pan, you'll save yourself the headache of washing multiple pots and pans after dinner. Simply line your sheet pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil for even easier cleanup, then toss it in the trash when you're done. It's as simple as that! No more scrubbing stubborn baked-on food or soaking pots overnight—just quick and painless cleanup that every busy mom will appreciate.
3-Versatility: Sheet pan dinners are incredibly versatile, making them perfect for even the pickiest of eaters. With endless possibilities for flavor combinations and ingredient swaps, you can customize your sheet pan dinners to suit your family's tastes and dietary preferences. Mix and match proteins, vegetables, and seasonings to create new and exciting flavor profiles each time you cook. Plus, since everything cooks together on the same pan, you'll save yourself the hassle of coordinating multiple dishes to ensure that everything is ready at the same time. Whether you're craving a simple weeknight dinner or hosting a casual dinner party, sheet pan dinners have you covered.
In conclusion, sheet pan dinners are a busy mom's best friend when it comes to getting dinner on the table with minimal time and effort. With their effortless preparation, easy cleanup, and versatility, they offer a hassle-free solution to mealtime chaos, allowing you to enjoy delicious and nutritious meals without the stress. So the next time you're feeling overwhelmed by the demands of daily life, reach for your trusty sheet pan and let it do the heavy lifting for you. Your taste buds (and your sanity) will thank you!
Ok here is how I put together my Sheet Pan Smoked Sausage and Veggies.
Ingredients: Sheet Pan Smoked Sausage and Veggies
- 24 oz smoked sausage
- 2 lbs carrots
- 1 1/2 lbs potatoes
- 1 lb brussel sprouts
- 1/2 tbsp roasted garlic brown butter kinders
- 1 tbsp avocado oil
Instructions: Sheet Pan Smoked Sausage and Veggies
- Preheat Oven to 425
- Prepare a large sheet pan with parchment paper if desired.
- Wash and cut all veggies and place them in a baggie and coat with oil and sprinkle in seasoning and shake to make sure they are covered.
- Once all veggies are coated with oil and seasoning you will want to pour out on sheet pan as single layer. You will want to give the veggies a 25 minute head start on cooking prior to putting in sausage.
- As veggies are cooking, you will want to slice up sausage.
- In 25 minutes the veggies will be half way cooked and you will want to take out of oven and scrap and move the veggies to help to evenly cook and add sliced smoked sausage to the pan.
- No need to season sausage just add to sheet pan and add to oven for another 15 minutes.
- After 15 minutes everything should be ready to come out of the oven.
- Serve immediately
